Tails and Tales
The Lyons Public Library’s 2021 Summer Reading Program,Tails and Tales is all planned out and ready for kick-off beginning July 4th.
Everyone is invited to participate in one of our three Reading Programs….Little Ones (birth to age 4) Youth (ages 5 – 12) Teens/Adults (age 13 & up). Registration begins Monday, June 21 and the Reading activities & programs start Sunday, July 5! It is FREE for everyone! There will be NO weekly prizes for reading, however, “Book bucks” will be awarded for minutes read, projects done and activities completed.
Due to the current pandemic, there will be one weekly program held at the library or the farmer’s market. We will have Grab & Go Activity Bags for everyone to come and get. There will be a different Grab & Go Bag for each week for 6 weeks, beginning July 6.(we are closed Monday , July 5th) The bags may include: crafts to make, writing and/or drawing projects, Bingo reading/activity boards, scavenger hunts, list challenges, different activity sheets and songs/rhymes (depending on the bag).
The Bags are available in 3 categories: 1- Little Ones, 2- Youth, 3- Teen/Adult and – . One bag per person for Little Ones, Youth & Teen/Adults.
At the end of the program, there will be certificates, free books & prizes for all ages when participants come in at a scheduled time to “shop” for their prizes.
